Just for fun,

We keep stocked up on RockIT fuel

The entrepreneurial fair has clearly rubbed off on many people who work for RockIT, although none more than Nathan, our very own corner shop in the making.  Realising a wide gap in the Service Desk marketplace, Nathan opened up his very own tuck shop.

It’s amazing, when you get the afternoon slump and need a little pick-me-up treat, Nathan’s tuck shop is on hand to offer an array of chocolate, crisps and even chilled drinks. Nathan runs the enterprise (that we’ve affectionately started to call ‘RockIT fuel’) with charities in mind. Not wanting to take a profit himself for re-stocking and bringing tasty snacks to the workforce, Nathan has a schedule of charities that will benefit from the profits each month.

In January, we were able to donate £77.38 to a charity called ‘Dreams Come True’, a charity that focuses on enriching the lives of children and young people with life-limiting and serious conditions.  They do this by granting these children with their dream, which can help them and their families to see past their illness and focus on something positive. For these children, their dreams are often to experience something for the first time, or to feel the sense of freedom.

One month on and February saw us raise a whopping £86.53 for ‘Ty Hafan’. Ty Hafan is one of the UK leading centres for paediatric palliative care. They provide a caring, comfortable place to support the families of children with life-limiting conditions.

These two charities and the future charities that we plan to support throughout the year are so worthy and rely on donations to continue to do great work in our community and throughout the UK. The rest of 2017 will see the RockIT tuck shop raise charitable donations for Help the Heroes, British Heart Foundation and Wales Air Ambulance (to name a few).

With all these charities to help, there really is a good excuse to eat chocolate (not that we need one).
